Project Management and Waste Management
Shane Motlhaloga has a varied career in radiation protection and occupational safety. He started as a lecturer and worked his way to a management position at the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation (NECSA) in 1999 in the Occupational Safety Division. During his tenure as Manager: Safety Support at NECSA, Mr Motlhaloga completed many NOSA Occupational Safety and Hygiene courses.
He joined the Department of Environmental Affairs & Tourism as the Director: Waste Management in 2001 and was later transferred to the Department of Minerals & Energy as the Director responsible for Nuclear Non-Proliferation.
Mr Motlhaloga holds a BSc Honours Degree in Physics from University of the North, Management Development Programme (Advanced Project Management) from Unisa. He also attended international training courses on the physical protection of nuclear facilities and materials and training on the emerging nuclear issues for decision makers.
